What is Gateway Farm?
Gateway Farm is a Christian ministry that is licensed by the state as a residential child care facility. We are currently licensed to provide services for up to 18 boys and girls ranging in age from 5 to 18. Our residents come to us struggling with some area in their life. We focus on spiritual growth of our residents through devotionals, chapel and prayer, their physical growth through developing healthy eating habits and regular exercise, and their mental growth through public education and individualized therapy. Who are Gateway Farm residents?
Gateway Farm residents are boys and girls who have been placed with us by their parents or guardians which may be the State of Texas. Some of our residents come to us with emotional problems, psychological problems, or they may be behind in their education. We develop a plan for helping each resident in overcoming the obstacles that are keeping them from experiencing success in their lives. How long does the program last?
Since no two children are the same, a set of goals is established to meet their individual needs. Parents are asked to make a one year commitment to the program so that we have the time to develop a relationship with the child, time to assess the child’s needs, and time to implement the plan of service for meeting those needs. If the child is making progress towards meeting their goals and additional time is needed to reach those goals, the contract may be extended. Where is Gateway Farm?
We are located out in the country, just south of New Boston, Texas. New Boston is a town of 5000 approximately 35 miles west of Texarkana, Texas. Our rural location offers the residents a more relaxed atmosphere for dealing with their personal issues. How can I place my child at Gateway Farms?
For a young man or woman to be considered for our program, they must be between the ages 5 and 18, must have the desire to change, and must be willing to follow their plan of service in order to achieve that change. How can I be a part of this ministry? Our society is full of innocent children who for one reason or another have been left without the support of family or a safe environment in which to live. We believe that our Lord would have His body, not the government, step in and meet the needs of these little ones. That is the purpose of Gateway Farm. We are working daily to provide these disadvantaged children with a home, a hope and a future. You can be a part of that effort. We need men and women who are mature in the Lord to serve as missionary house parents, to volunteer their time to work in our office, to help maintain our campus, to raise funds and of course we need the faithful support of those who have the means to help us by giving to our operating fund on a monthly basis.
