There is a popular saying in our culture, who is your daddy now? Interesting question. The question is asked in the context of who is meeting your needs, who is showing you the ropes, who is in control of your life? Our answer reveals in who we place our trust. “…for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” (Luke 6: 45 NKJ) Those who have lived very long have already experienced the truth that in each life there will be times of need. We will face things that we are not able to overcome in the natural and we don’t know what to do or where to turn. The scripture tells that in such times, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1 NKJ) The enemy will come to us and tell us that we are all along, that we have no husband, no father and no defender. That again is a lie. Psalms 68: 5 tells us that God is, “…a father of the fatherless, a defender of widows…” “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4: 16 NKJ) And so when troubles press in let us reject the fear and remember God’s word, “For as many as are led by the spirit of God, these are the sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, Abba, Father.” (Romans 8: 14-15 NKJ) Now when asked the question, “Who is your daddy now?” Speak it out with boldness, “His name is Abba Father”Pastor Ken
